| Program : The Sacred Lake of the Incas |

DAY 1
Transportation from Puno to Copacabana, boat to Island of the Sun, land near Pilkokaina ruins and have a typical aptapi (vegetarian: Potatoes, chuño (dehydrated potato) ,cheese, broad beans, corn..). Then hike 1hr to Ecolodge La Estancia. Andean cooking lessons available.

DAY 2
Don't Miss the Sunrise Early in the Morning!
Boat north to the Chincana
Labyrinth, visit the ruins, Hike through the Island to go back to La Estancia. Free afternoon to learn about the Aymara culture and its believes. Lecture about traditional medicine of the Aymaras (pre-inca civilization).
DAY 3
After breakfast hike through the village of Yumani in the Garden of the Incas, to see the water spring of the Eternal Youth, where the Incas were baptized. Then down to the bay, take the boat to Copacabana, visit the famous Dark Virgin, its great church and a stroll of the town. After lunch private transportation to La Paz. |

DAY 4

|
A 4 hour tour of La Paz in the morning, including the area of the street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts. The tour goes through the colonial part of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the outdoor replica of the Tiahuanaco temple. Then to the modern part of town, dropping down a lot in elevation and finally visiting the Valley of the Moon to enjoy all of its natural geological formations. Relaxation available. |
DAY 5
Trip goes along the Pan-American Highway through the Bolivian highlands, stopping and visiting the millenary Tiahuanaco ruins, the main archaeological center of Bolivia. The trip continues to Guaqui at the shore of Lake Titicaca and then surrounding it until you reach Desaguadero, a village on the border with Peru, there you cross the border with Peru and check Immigrations. |

The road goes around Lake Titicaca passing several notable towns. The church in Pomata has the most impressive architectural treasures and holds mestizo type paintings from the XVII and XVIII century. Next is Juli, holds most of the Jesuit Missions legacy, with four spectacular churches, then the ancient towns of Acora and Plateria, both popular for their reed boat building yards. Chucuito is the next stop, with some ruins of pre-Colombian times, before our final destination, the Peruvian port of Puno (B,L).
Extension to Madidi Park
Day 05 Morning flight from La Paz in to Rurrenabaque (1 hour). Meeting at the airport and boat trip in the Beni river, crossing "El Bala" strait, then the Tuichi river until the port of Chalalan Ecolodge (4 hours). A gentle walk through the forest in the Wichi trail to the lodge (1/2 hour) in the shores of the lagoon, lunch and time to rest. In the afternoon they will present Madidi National Park and the project of the community of San Jose de Uchupiamonas.
DAY 6

Trek in the Silbador, Mutua and Anta trails to see the fruit, medicinal and exotic plants. Lunch and time to swim in the lagoon. In the afternoon enjoy didactic games or see the bibliography of the project. Then trek in the Wichi and Jaguar trails and focus the area of artisan plants and also enjoy birdwatching. After dinner, traditional histories and legends of the area. Lecture about medicinal plants in the area.

DAY 7
Trek the Wabucuru and Marimono trails, focusing in ecological processes, wildlife and visit small ruins, not well identified. Reaching the Eslabon river is an area with some hills and lots of chances to see monkeys and other mammals. Lunch in the area and return to Chalalan. After dinner other games related with biodiversity and memory, associate with Chalalan. Lecture about the cosmic energy prevailing in this area of the Andes.

DAY 8
Early breakfast and departure, hiking to the port in the Tuichi river and then boat to Rurrenabaque (3 hours). Flight to La Paz with both transfers.
