TREKKING IN BOLIVIA - 001
TREKKING THE ROYAL ANDEAN RANGE - Condoriri (3 D/2 N)

DAY 1
LA PAZ / LAKE CONDORIRI
Private transportation from La Paz to Lake Tuni. The first part of the trek is flat until you reach the foots of the range. The trek continues uphill crossing one small lagoon and reaching another one on the banks of the Condoriri mountain, where you’ll camp, at an altitude of 4,650 m/15,246 ft. (B, L, D)

DAY 2
LAKE CONDORIRI /ANCOMA
This is a long trekking day, crossing two summits of 5,000 m /16,400 ft, descending and following the canyon of Pampa Leon, until reaching the small lagoon of Liviñosa. The trek continues going down to Ancoma, set in a beautiful open valley, where you’ll camp at 3,800 m/12,464 ft. (B, L, D)

DAY 3
ANCOMA / CHACAPAMPA /LA PAZ
Half an hour trek descending to Chacapampa (3,550 m/11,640 ft), a small village where one of the hydroelectric plants of the Zongo valley is located. Transportation back to La Paz. (B)

TAKESI PRE - INCA TRAIL (4 D/3 N)

DAY 1
LA PAZ / TAKESI
Private transportation from La Paz to San Francisco mine. This trek starts hard uphill with a well preserved pre Inca path, until the Takesi summit (4,650 m/15,246 ft). Then on everything is downhill, following the canyon, passing first the village of Takesi, perfectly preserved with Indian architecture. One hour down is a nice area to camp, at the banks of the Takesi river at 3,400 m/11,152 ft. (L, D)

DAY 2
TAKESI / CHOJLLA
The trek goes down in a well preserved pre-Inca path, then continues down in side hills until reaching Cacapi, vegetation is already subtropical. You’ll pass the river and go up a small hill and down until the river again, at 1 hour is the campsite at the bottom of the Chojlla mine (2,400 m/7,872 ft). (B, L, D)

DAY 3
CHOJLLA / TAMAMPAYA
Walking in the road and seeing the remains of the tin mine of La Chojlla, you reach Yanacachi. Trek passing the village of Mocori with great coca, coffee and citric plantations until Puente Villa (1,100 m/3,608 ft), where the Tamampaya hotel is after a 1/2 hour walk outside the town. (B, L, D)

DAY 4
TAMAMPAYA / LA PAZ
Morning at leisure to enjoy this peaceful place with great vegetation. After lunch private transportation back to La Paz. (B, L)




TREKKING IN BOLIVIA - 003
CHORO PRE-INCA TRAIL (4 D/3 N)

DAY 1
LA PAZ / CHALLAPAMPA
Private transportation from La Paz to La Cumbre, where the trek starts until the summit of Chucura (4,850 m/15,900 ft). All is down following the forming river, over a well preserved trail, until you reach Chucura, then the small village of Challapampa to camp at 2,800 m/9,184 ft, all green. (L, D)

DAY 2
CHALLAPAMPA / SANDILLANI
The high jungle began in a very steep trail, with water running slippery sometimes, until Choro (2,300 m/7,545 ft), cross the river, ideal for a cold swim contrasting the warm weather. Then going up and down many side hills until Pabellonani, to finally reach Sandillani (2,100 m/6,890 ft), a beautiful farm build by a Japanese hermit with a great view of the Yungas area. (B, L, D)

DAY 3
SANDILLANI / CHAIRO / RIO SELVA RESORT
First goes down gentle before dropping down steep in zig zag to El Chairo (1,300 m/4,264 ft). A nice village in the shores of the Huarinilla river, rich in tropical agriculture. There is a road that goes to Yolosa and Coroico. This trek ends in Rio Selva Resort (1,050 m/3,443 ft). (B, L, D)

DAY 4
RIO SELVA RESORT / LA PAZ
Enjoy facilities of the Resort and recover energy in a warm weather. In the afternoon private transportation to La Paz. (B, L)




TREKKING IN BOLIVIA - 004
TREKKING THE APOLOBAMBA RANGE (6 D/5 N)

DAY 1
LA PAZ / PELECHUCO
Private transportation going through the highlands and surrounding Lake Titicaca until Escoma then through the Ulla Ulla National Park, where you can see vicuñas and alpacas and the Apolobamba range. It ends going down the canyon until the village of Pelechuco (3,500 m/11,480 ft). (L, D)

DAY 2
PELECHUCO / ILLO ILLO
The trek begins going up to the Queansani summit of 4,700m/15,416 ft, with a nice view of the Apolobamba range, you have many chances to see the majestic "Condor" around. Then goes down to the Illo Illo river to camp at his banks after one hour walk at 3,800 m/12,464 ft. (B, L, D)

DAY 3
ILLO ILLO / LIDIUNI
You slowly climb a long side hill until the village of Piedra Grande (4,700 m/15,416 ft). It continues going uphill a large flat land called Lidiuni, where the camp is settle. (B, L, D)

DAY 4
LIDIUNI / INCA CANCHI
Uphill to the summit of Sunchuli (5,100 m/16,728 ft), where you have an spectacular view of the surrounding area. The trek goes down to an old mining camp and then up to a second summit, the Viscachani pass, with a nice view of the Illampu and Akamani mountains. It continues a long sidehill, from where you go down very steep in zig-zag to the village of Inca Canchi. (B, L, D)

DAY 5
INCA CANCHI / JATUNPAMPA
The trek goes up another summit (4,700 m/15,416 ft). From there it goes down to the left following a canyon to later slightly go up to Jatunpampa. (B, L, D)

DAY 6
JATUNPAMPA / CHARAZANI / LA PAZ
You go down to the river (3,400 m/11,152 ft), then slowly up to the famous Kallawaya center of Curva, the main center of traditional medicine with local herbs and plants. Private transportation stoping in Charazani, to bath in thermal medicinal hot springs. Long trip back to La Paz . (B, L)






TREKKING IN BOLIVIA - 005
ENJOY THE ANCIENT ROOTS IN THE ROYAL ANDES RANGE (7D/6 N)

DAY 1
LA PAZ / SORATA
You’ll cross the highlands encountering pleasant Indian villages and going through an Andean pass at the foothills of the Illampu (6,386 m/20,938 ft) and Ancohuma (6,427 m/21,072 ft) mountains. Descending to the rich valleys of Sorata (2,568 m/8,423 ft), an old colonial village.
Afternoon to visit the village and enjoy its market and traditions. (L, D)

DAY 2
SORATA / ANCOHUMA
Trip crossing the Andes range to the other side of the Illampu mountain in the Chuchu pass (4,658 m/15,278 ft), with impressive landscapes of the area. Then you'll descend the forming Tipuani river until the village of Ancohuma (3,784 m/12,412 ft), where our first camp is set for this remote trek. (B, L, D)

DAY 3
ANCOHUMA / PIEDRA GRANDE
After passing the village you take the right side and start climbing the summit of Kochuahuasi (4,479 m/14,691 ft). You go down the valley that ends in the village of Cocoyo (3,512 m/11,520 ft). The camp is set in Piedra Grande, passing the village. (B, L, D)

DAY 4
PIEDRA GRANDE / CHAJOLPAYA
Trek through the valley and up to the summit of Sarani (4,480 m/14,695 ft). Here you have another great view of the Royal range and the Chiarhoco peak. It goes down another canyon that ends in Chajolpaya, an Indian village, with stone wall constructions and thatch roofs. After passing to the other side of the canyon you'll camp in the beds of the range with a good view of the Negruni mountain. (B, L, D)

DAY 5
CHAJOLPAYA / CHULLUMPINI
Getting used to the ups and down of the eastern flank of the Andes range, you'll go up again until the Negruni pass (4,950 m). Then down to the shores of a small lagoon, perfectly and naturally set between the mountains at 4,400 m/14,432 ft. (B, L, D)

DAY 6
CHULLUMPINI / PIACUANI
You'll follow the Chekapkuchu canyon in the beds of the range in a very steep part until the Taypipata pass (4,730 m/15,515 ft), still going up until the main pass at 4,780 m/15,678 ft. You are still enjoying the remote areas of the Andes, with low population, but unique and beautiful due to the preservation of their life style and customs. Descending to Piacuani Pampa area at 4,280 m/14,038 ft. (B, L, D)

DAY 7
PIACUANI / HUARIHUARINI / LA PAZ
Up until Putuputuni lagoon (4,630 m/15,187 ft), then to the pass of Jankolakaya (4,700 m/15,416 ft) and finally pass nearby the Vinohuara pass at 5,000 m/16,400 ft. Descending through this area, until the lower part of the valley in Huarihuarini at 4,550 m/14,924 ft. Transportation back to La Paz. (B, L)

TREKKING IN LAKE TITICACA AND THE ROYAL ANDES RANGE (8 D/ 7 N)

DAY 1
TRANSFER IN
Transfer from El Alto International airport (4.000 m /13.115 ft) to the hotel.

DAY 2
LA PAZ / COPACABANA / TREK TO SUN ISLAND
Private transportation from La Paz to Copacabana, a beautiful town in the shores of Lake Titicaca. You’ll visit the Dark Virgin of Copacabana and its impressive church. Trek surrounding Lake Titicaca, passing small villages and lots of rich fields until Sampaya, an old Indian village where most of their constructions are in stones. Hike down to the bay and boat to the Island of the Sun, the Sacred spot of the Incas, land in Pilkokaina ruins and one hour hike to overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia. (B, L, D)

DAY 3
TREK IN THE SUN ISLAND
DON’T MISS A GREAT SUNRISE! Boat to the Chincana bay, to see the best ruins of the island. A great 3 hours hike crossing most of the island back to the Ecolodge, to have a traditional lunch called huatia, where everything is cooked below earth under the fire. Afternoon free to enjoy the beauty and energy of the area. (B, L, D)

DAY 4
SUN ISLAND / COPACABANA / HUATAJATA
Hike to Yumani in the Garden of the Incas, see the water spring called of the Eternal Youth, where the Incas were baptize. Boat back to Copacabana and private transportation to Huatajata. (B, L, D)

DAY 5
HUATAJATA / LAKE CONDORIRI
Private transportation from Huatajata to Lake Tuni. The trek is flat until the foots of the range, then continues uphill passing one small lake, then a second one at the foothills of the Condoriri mountain, where you camp at an elevation of 4,650 m/15,246 ft. (B, L, D)

Tour of La Paz including street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts. The colonial part with San Francisco church, the Gold and Murillo museums and Murillo square. Finally the Valley of the Moon with its natural geological formations due to erosion. (B)

DAY 3
TIAHUANACO
Trip through the Bolivian Highlands to see the Aymara Indians way of life. Tiahuanaco is one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of American men and one of the most advanced cultures at that time. (B)

DAY 4
LA PAZ / COPACABANA / TREK TO SUN ISLAND
Private transportation to Copacabana (3,841 m/12,594 ft), a beautiful town on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Visit the famous Dark Virgin and its colonial church. Trek around Lake Titicaca passing through small villages and lots of rich fields until Sampaya, an old Indian village where most of their houses are built of mud bricks, thatch roofs and stones. Hike down to the bay and boat to Sun Island, the sacred place of the Incas, land in Pilkokaina ruins and one hour hike to overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia. (L, D)

DAY 5
TREK IN THE SUN ISLAND

DAY 10
UMA PALCA / CHUCURA
Trek uphill passing three beautiful lagoons until a high pass, then down reaching another canyon and taking the left side following the river. Cross the Indian village of Zanja, leave the canyon to cross a small range on the right side and descend to Chucura (3,600 m/11,808 ft), where the green vegetation starts. Camp before entering the village. (B, L, D)

DAY 11
CHUCURA / CHORO
Trek down in a well preserved pre-Inca trail until the small village of Challapampa, where the green vegetation covers the whole area. The high jungle begins with a very steep trail, with water running along, slippery sometimes, ending in Choro (2,050 m/6,724 ft). (B, L, D)

DAY 12
CHORO / SANDILLANI
