PAZ (Full day)
Private transportation from
La Paz to Ovejuyo. The trek follows a dry
canyon with one of the most diverse selection
of geological formations, due to the water
and wind erosion, it goes up in the right
side of the canyon crossing a small range
with a great view of the city of La Paz and
the surroundings. Then down following a forming
canyon with also great formations, until the
small village of Huni with a magnificent view
of the Illimani and Mururata mountains and
the canyon of Palca. Return to La Paz. (L)

DAY 1. LA PAZ / COPACABANA
/ TREK TO SUN ISLAND
Private transportation from La Paz to Copacabana,
a beautiful town in the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Visit the famous Dark Virgin and its impressive
church. Afternoon trek surrounding Lake
Titicaca, passing small villages and lots
of rich fields until Sampaya, old village
where most of their constructions are mud
bricks, thatch roofs and stones. Hike down
to the bay and boat to Sun Island, the Sacred
spot of the Incas, land in Pilkokaina ruins
and one hour hike to overnight in Ecolodge

DAY 2. TREK IN SUN ISLAND
DON’T MISS A GREAT SUNRISE! Boat to
the Chincana bay, to see the best preserved
ruins of the island and start a great hike
crossing most of the island until the Ecolodge.
You’ll have a traditional lunch, called
huatia, where everything is cooked below
earth under the fire. Afternoon free to

/ LA PAZ
Hike to Yumani in the Garden of the Incas,
to see the water spring of the Eternal Youth,
where the Incas were baptized. Boat back

CONNECTING PUNO (Peru), hike in the Island

DAY 1. PUNO - COPACABANA
- ISLAND OF THE SUN (By car and boat)
Private transportation from Puno, passing
Chucuito, Juli, Pomata to Copacabana,
visit its beautiful colonial church and
the famous "Dark Virgin". In
the afternoon trek around the lake and
through Indian communities to Sampaya.
Hike down to the bay and cross in boat
to Sun Island, the sacred place of the
Incas, land in Pilkokaina ruins and one
hour hike to overnight in Ecolodge La

DAY 2. HIKE IN THE ISLAND
OF THE SUN / COPACABANA / LA PAZ
DON’T MISS A GREAT SUNRISE! Boat
to the Chincana bay, in the top are the
best preserved ruins of La Chincana or
Labyrinth. A great walk crossing most
of the island back to the Ecolodge to
have a traditional lunch called huatia,
where everything is cooked below earth
under the fire. Then hike to Yumani, to
see the Garden of the Incas and the water
spring “Of the Eternal Youth”,
where the Incas were baptized. Boat back
to Copacabana and transportation to La

DAY 3. CITY TOUR AND
VALLEY OF THE MOON
The 3 hours tour of La Paz includes the
area of the street markets, rich in handicrafts,
weavings and witchcraft artifacts. Then
the colonial part of the city, San Francisco
church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and
the outdoor replica of the Tiahuanaco
(Tiwanacu) temple. Finally the modern
area of the city and the Valley of the

DAY 4. TIAHUANACO RUINS
(Half day)
One of the oldest American cultures (1580
BC to 1150 AC), considered the cradle
of the American man and one of the most
advanced cultures in development in those
days. Visit the temple of Kalasasaya,
the Gate of the Sun, monoliths Ponce and
Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and the Semi

A. M. Ovejuyo is 40 minutes from the city,
the trek starts entering a canyon with

erosion. Going up to a summit and descending
another canyon to the village of Huni,

HIKE TO LOMA LARGA IN SAMAIPATA – SANTA CRUZ (2 D/1 N)
DAY 1
Trip through
the Amazon plains and entering the last
branches of the Andes range, few miles
off the main road is Serrania Volcanoes,
a beautiful red range with great depressions
and lots of vegetation. Then you’ll
enter a canyon with natural caves, done
by the water erosion of one river, with
great cascades, ending in the small
town of Samaipata and enjoying the charm
of its people. (L, D)
DAY 2
Half an hour
trip from Samaipata to starts the trek
to LOMA LARGA, where you can see some
flora of Amboro National Park. The hike
lasts 5 hours, going through many small
ranges finishing in the famous pre-Inca
ruins of El Fuerte de Samaipata. Visit
the ruins and return to Santa Cruz.

interest in birdwatching in Bolivia,
you’ll have a beautiful show before
the light goes, to enjoy this rich area
in birding, after breakfast you’ll
start a trek going down the Colorado
river with rich flora, as well as landscapes

social activity of the area. Their weavings
are among the best in technique, quality
and color. Trip to La Candelaria, a
traditional farm of colonial time, where
you’ll have a demonstration of
weavings and typical dances of the area.

Drive to Icla,
a rich valley in agriculture, fossils
remains and a beautiful landscape. Trek
into the Icla canyon with incredible
formation done by the water erosion
of the river., going through the river
and enjoying the great erosion of the

the ruins private transportation back

Flight to Sucre with both transfers.
P. M. You’ll enjoy the great colonial
legacy of the city with amazing churches

and textiles of the Jalq’a and

HIKE THROUGH DINOSAUR STEPS AND THE
INDIAN JALQ’A CULTURE (Full Day)
Trip to the small Indian village of
Humaca and the paleontological sites
of Lajastambo and Chaunaca. From Humaca
starts the trek to the sites of Niño
Mayo, Lajas and Oro Pajla. You’ll
see different dinosaur tracks of the
late cretacic period in a vast area
of the Maragua Synclinal, and also enjoy
a beautiful landscape and the rich Jalq’a

SUCRE / POTOSI AND CITY TOUR
Trip from Sucre crossing valleys and
the Pilcomayo River to then go up more
then 1,500 m in two hours to the highlands
until reaching Potosi.
P. M. Visit of the Mint House, traditional
colonial streets and the artisan market,
then San Francisco and San Lorenzo churches
and Santa Teresa church and museum.

MINE
Hike until the top of one of the most
important and famous mountains, the
Cerro Rico, visiting also the mine.

TRIP TO UYUNI
Trip from Potosi crossing branches of
the Andes range and old mining areas
until Uyuni, visiting a cemetery of
old trains outside of town. Then to
Colchani, a village located at the shores

in Palacio de Sal Hotel, surrounded
with salt and build with salt bricks.

Visit "Ojos de Agua", bubles

to Jirira, a small village at the base

FULL DAY HIKE TO THUNUPA VOLCANO
Thunupa volcano is considered one of
the oldest gods of the Andean cultures,
therefore a main pre-Columbian ceremonial
center. The hike is all uphill, with
parts that are steep and with lots of
gravel, the view of the top is amazing,
you can see Uyuni and Coipasa salt flats.

Trip in gravel road leaving Uyuni salt
flats, crossing small ranges, until
reaching Sevaruyo, a train stop. The
road follows the railroad passing the
villages of Huari, Challapata to finally
