PUNO
(Peru), LAKE TITICACA and LA PAZ (4 days/3
nights)
DAY
1. PUNO - COPACABANA - LA PAZ (By car)
Private transportation from Puno, passing
Chucuito, Juli, Pomata to Copacabana, visit
its beautiful renascence style church and
the famous "Dark Virgin of Copacabana".
From Copacabana to Tiquina are great views
of Lake Titicaca and the Andes Royal Range.
Cross the strait of Tiquina and continue around
the small lake, then through parts of the
Highlands until the city of La Paz. (L)
DAY 2. HALF DAY CITY TOUR AND VALLEY OF THE
MOON
A 3 hour tour of La Paz including the area
of the street markets, rich in handicrafts,
weavings and witchcraft artifacts. Then the
colonial part of the city, San Francisco church,
Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the outdoor
replica of the Tiahuanaco temple. Finally
the modern area of the city and the Valley
of the Moon. (B)

3. TIAHUANACO RUINS (Half day)
One of the oldest American cultures (1580
BC to 1150 AC), considered the cradle of the
American man and one of the most advanced
cultures in those days. Visit the temple of
Kalasasaya, the Gate of the Sun, monoliths
Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana pyramid and
the Semi underground temple. (B)

SAJAMA
NATIONAL PARK AND THE CARANGAS TOMBS - ORURO
(3 days/2 nights)
DAY 1. LA PAZ / SAJAMA NATIONAL PARK
Trip through the Bolivian highlands, crossing
the whole central part from east to west of
the Andes range. The area is Aymara, one of
the oldest cultures of the Andes that has
preserved lots of its traditions, clothing
and way of life, near the Sajama mountain
(6,542 m/21,450 ft - highest peak of Bolivia).
The area is rich in camelides raising (llama,
alpaca and vicuna), due to its gigantic plains
and abundance of water coming from the range.
In the Sajama village you'll visit a great
colonial church, could walk or drive to the
forest of native kenua trees and then have
a bath in the thermal hot springs. Overnight
in Tomarapi ecolodge. (L, D)
DAY 2. CARANGAS TOMBS
Drive south through a strong cultural area
since pre Colombian times, with hundreds of
tombs in the whole area and nice colonial
churches of the catholic religion, showing
the syncretism use by the Spaniards related
with the Andean gods like the Sajama mountain.
The tombs of Carangas are the most impressive,
due to its colourful paintings. Then return
to Lagunas village with a nice colonial church
and near a small lagoon to see flamingoes.

DAY
3. SAJAMA / LA PAZ
Early morning is nice to see the sunrise with
the backdrop of the Sajama mountain, enjoying
the beauty of the area the rest of the morning.

SAJAMA
AND THE CULTURAL INFLUENCE OF THE AREA (3 days/2
nights)
DAY 1. LA PAZ / SAJAMA
Trip through the Bolivian highlands, crossing

DAY 2. SAJAMA / CIUDAD DE
PIEDRA (CITY OF STONES)
Trip north surrounding the Sajama mountain
through really remote areas, with many vicuñas
and good chances to see the Andean fox. Then
go back towards east to one of the most impressive
natural formation, a whole valley spread with
stones, all with amazing figures done by the
wind and water erosion, called "City
of stones". After letting your spirit
fly and walk around the area your trip will
continue to Calacoto, a small village in the
banks of the Desaguadero River. Night in basic

DAY 3. CALACOTO / COMANCHE
(Puya Raymondi) / LA PAZ
Continue travelling the highlands until the
village of Comanche, where you'll see the
gigantic cactus of the Puya Raymondi, that
flowers only once every hundred years. After

PERUVIAN CIRCUIT (3 days / 2 nights)
DAY
1. LA PAZ / COPACABANA / PUNO
Early departure from La Paz passing Indian
Aymara communities in the highlands. The road
runs parallel to the Andes Royal Range, enjoying
many beautiful peaks, it reaches Lake Titicaca
and surrounds its eastern part until the strait
of Tiquina, which connects the two parts of
the lake. You cross in ferry boat and continue
on the road with great views of the lake and
the Andes Range until reaching the town of
Copacabana. Visit the famous “Dark Virgin”
in its great colonial church, after a short
visit and a typical lunch, you'll continue
passing immigration in Kasani and entering
the Peruvian side. The trip continues passing
the towns of Pomata, Juli, Chucuito with their
great churches and finally Puno, the largest
city in Lake Titicaca. Overnight in hotel.

DAY
2. URUS ISLAND / SILLUSTANI RUINS
Near Puno visit the famous floating islands
of the Uros, to see how the Aymara communities
are bringing back lots of old techniques and
traditions used by the Uros culture.
In the afternoon visit the pre-Inca ruins
of Sillustani, passing through pre-Hispanic
water channels, called Suka Kollus, they created
a warmer weather due to the radiation of the
sun and avoiding freezing at night. The tombs
of Sillustani are amazing in size and variety
of structures showing many influences, from
Tiahuanaco, showing the Kollas and ending
in the Inca culture. (B)

3. PUNO / DESAGUADERO / TIAHUANACO / LA PAZ
Trip from Puno passing the towns of Chucuito,
Juli, Pomata and Desaguadero, the border town
with Bolivia, where you'll do immigration.
Trip to Tiahuanaco, one of the oldest cultures
with great development in pottery, stone construction
and agriculture. Visit the ruins with their
temples and also the local museum, continue
to La Paz, a main center of the Andean area
mixing all the traditional legacy with modern

MYSTICAL TRIP IN THE BOLIVIAN ANDES (4 days
/ 3 nights)
DAY 1. TRANSFER IN
El Alto airport is at 4.000 m/13,115 ft
above sea level and 14 km/9 miles from downtown
La Paz on a highway with an excellent view
of the city and the majestic backdrop of
the Illimani mountain in the Andes Range.
PM. CULTURAL CITY TOUR
The city tour starts in the museum of archaeology,
to see the first two cultures: Chiripa and
Wankarani, then Tiahuanaco, one of the best
developed in the Andean area, due to the
great influence of Lake Titicaca. Learn
about their social life, incredible techniques
in agriculture (terraces, water channels
and pools), stone construction and ceramics.
Aymaras were the only ones who shared administration
with the Incas and have preserved until
present times their clothing, language,
music and religion. You'll complete learning
about the Aymaras in the Gold museum, as
well as the Artisan and Indian markets.
In the Witchcraft market you’ll see
the people practicing their own believes
in ceremonies with different purposes.
DAY 2. LA PAZ - RUINS OF TIAHUANACO, CHIRIPA
AND KHALAUTA - HUATAJATA
Trip crossing the Bolivian highlands to
Tiahuanaco, to see the great legacy of one
of the oldest Andean cultures of America
with great examples and development in stone
construction, pottery and agriculture. Visit
the ruins with its great temples and the
local museum to appreciate their rich pottery
and art. The ideal spot for a mystical ceremony
is the temple of Kalasasaya, where you’ll
feel the energy of the area.
Then the village of Tiahuanaco and its church,
trip to Taraco crossing primitive Indian
villages until Lake Titicaca, visiting the
small ruins of the Chiripa culture. Boat
to Khalauta Island to see the ruins and
the cemetery of the Incas, as well their
agricultural terraces, this place has a
special touch of connection between Pacha
Mama (Mother Earth) and the lake. Then boat
to Huatajata, overnight in hotel Titicaca.

DAY 3. HUATAJATA / TOUCHING THE ANDES /
SORATA
Private transportation through the highlands
to pass the Andes range towards east. You’ll
stop in special place to admire the beauty
of the Illampu and Ancohuma mountains, transport
yourself hundreds of years ago to understand
what nature is saying and see why the mountains
were the local gods. Descend to Sorata (2,678
m/8,784 ft), a nice town in the flanks of
the Illampu (6,368 m/20,887 ft) and Ancohuma
(6,427 m/21,081 ft) mountains, set in a
nice valley rich in agriculture. Good production
of potato in the upper valleys and corn
in the lower ones, are the main legacy of
the Andean cultures. Overnight in hotel.

4. SORATA / LA PAZ
Morning to learn about the different traditions
in the area, focusing in their believes
and present practices. The area is ideal,
because it shows different influences, meaning
Aymara but also some Quechua. Trip back

1. LA PAZ /CUSCO (PERU)
Flight from La Paz to Cusco, with both transfers.
P.M. Three hour city tour, enjoying one
of the nicest cities of colonial and Inca
architecture, its museums and churches.
Then the surrounding ruins of Puca Pucara,
Tambomachay, Kenko and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman
DAY
2. MACHU PICCHU RUINS
Early departure in train to enjoy a full
day tour of the Lost City of the Incas,
the famous Machu Picchu ruins, lunch and

3. SACRED VALLEY
Full day trip along the Sacred Valley of
the Incas, visiting the Indian markets of
Pisac or Chincheros, then down to the Urubamba
valley, typical lunch. Finally visit the
fortress of Ollantaytambo, constructed in
a hill, with amazing terraces and great

eastern part until the strait of Tiquina,
which connects the two parts of the lake.
You cross in ferry boat and continue on
the road with great views of the lake and
the Andes Range until reaching the town
of Copacabana. Visit the famous “Dark
Virgin” in its great colonial church,
after a short visit and typical lunch, you'll
continue doing immigration in Kasani and
entering the Peruvian side. The trip continues
passing the towns of Pomata, Juli, Chucuito
and its great churches, finally Puno, the
largest city in Lake Titicaca. Overnight

DAY 2. PUNO - CUSCO (Train - MON / WED
/ SAT)
The train departs early in the morning,
crossing a part of the highlands, then a
branch of the Andes range and finally descending
to the rich agricultural valley of Cusco.
The trip lasts about 10 hours and gives
you a good contrast of the highlands with

3. HALF DAY CITY TOUR AND VISIT OF
THE INCA RUINS
In the afternoon,city tour of Cusco, visiting
museums, the cathedral, Indian and artisan
market and the surrounding Inca ruins of

DAY 4. MACHU PICCHU RUINS
Early departure in train to the Lost City
