Dear Eric,

Once again, Condor Travel has constructed an interesting, educational, and safe study abroad program for my students in Argentina. The quality of the service provided, especially the logistical support once in the country, makes for a smooth and rewarding adventure. On 21 July 2006, I departed Miami International Airport with 12 Armstrong Atlantic State University students for Buenos Aires on Aerolineas Argentinas. This is my fifth study abroad program arranged by Condor Travel. After arriving in Buenos Aires, we were provided with a tour of Buenos Aires that included the Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, and the Recoleta Cemetery. Our guide, Nicolas, was a delightful and informative young man. We then departed for Patagonia where we were to spend half of our Argentine adventure. In Puerto Piramides we took a boat to see whales and elephant seals in the South Atlantic. In Esquel, we took the Trochita Patagonian train and later saw trees in the Andes over 1,500 years old. In Bariloche, we were stunned by the beauty of winter in Argentina. Our return journey included the eighteen-hour Tren Patagonia from Bariloche to Viedma. The service and food on the train were exceptional, while the cost was minimal. The Tren Patagonia, which allowed the students to view the change in terrain from the comfort of their sleeper car was a highlight of the trip.

After returning to Buenos Aires, we departed for Iguazu. Before arriving at Iguazu, however, the group stopped at a Jesuit Mission near Posadas in Missiones Province. Our tour guide, Val, had been my guide of Iguazu in 2002 (during a faculty Fulbright program) and in 2004 (during the study abroad program in Brazil arranged by Condor Travel). He is a very competent and informed individual who enriched the experience of the students. Although the falls were diminished by a drought in Curitiba, Brazil, they were still a magnificent sight to see. Iguazu Falls is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in the world. After returning to Buenos Aires, Jean Cavanaugh from the US Embassy gave an informative discussion of US-Argentine relations to the students. The night before our departure, we attended a Tango dinner show that left the students enthralled. Before departing, we visited La Plata, the capital of Buenos Aires Province. In addition to the fascinating museum, one of the best in Latin America, the students were able to visit the location of Noche de los Lapices, a film depicting the horrors of the Dirty War.

My students and I would like to commend Condor Travel for organizing a spectacular study abroad program in Chile. Our journey throughout Chile from 22 July to 11 August was an incredible learning experience, This is our fourth study abroad program organized by Condor Travel. It is the general opinion of the eighteen students who participated in the program that the services provided by Condor Travel surpassed our collective expectations. Each study abroad program that I lead must meet three basic criteria: safety, education and entertainment, Condor Travel has excelled in all three areas.

In Chile we were blessed with exceptional guides. They were well –informed, polite and a pleasure to be around. Pablo in San Pedro de Atacama and Christian in Easter Island were very good guides. Christian’s lectures were academically superior to many lectures that I have heard at professional historical meetings. Rodrigo in Santiago, however, was beyond very good. He was exceptional. We have had countless guides on our journeys in South America, but Rodrigo is by far the most competent. He was well informed, considerate and a pleasure to be around. He took a strong interest in helping the students get the best educational experience possible.

The hotels were excellent. I was especially impressed by the rooms and the staff at the Hotel Las Galerias. Everyone at the hotel made our visit a pleasure. At one point I found Jim, one of my students practicing Spanish with Mauricio, one of the luggage handlers. We felt very welcome. I was also very impressed with our rooms, the staff, and the food at the cabins in Cascadas. Everyone commented that they felt like they were visiting a family. The staff that took the students on the white water rafting was quite professional and no body had fear.

I look forward to conducting future study abroad programs with Condor Travel. For me, the highlight of my teaching year is waiting to see what wonderful surprises Condor Travel has in store for me and my students

Dear Eric,

Once again, I write to thank you for arranging a fantastic study abroad program for my students. The program that you put together for my 23 students in Brazil was spectacular. Every time we arrived at a spectacular hotel, a wonderful restaurant, or an amazing historic site, the students exclaim, “Wow, Carlos has done it again!”. The three weeks that the group spent in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, the Amazon, Salvador de Bahia, Curitiba, Iguazu, and Sao Paulo provided the students with an historical overview of Brasil.

Although the entire trip was spectacular, the Guides made the trip a truly enjoyable and educational experience. Roberto in Rio de Janeiro and Charles in Bahia were the most knowledgeable, helpful and friendly Guides that I have ever encountered on a study abroad program. All of the Guides should be commended for their efforts. For many of the Guides, a group of university students who had knowledge of Brazil’s rich history and culture was a welcome change from “typical” tourists.

I would like to let you know how grateful I am for making my client’s tours in Peru so wonderful. I would also like to bring to your attention all of the hard work done by Carlos and Eduardo .
