The Cathedral
Built in the 16th Century with influence of the Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles. The high altar is made of solid silver. Paintings of all the bishops of Cusco and a Van Dyck painting of Christ can be admired along with many other lovely pieces of art in gold and silver and the Maria Angola bell hanging in the Evangelio tower.

On both sides of the Cathedral stand El Triunfo and the church of Jesus Maria y Jose, all of them built on top of the Palace of the Inca Wiracocha.

La Compañìa de Jesus
In the Plaza de Armas. Built in the late 17th century on top of the Palace of Serpents (or Palace of Inca Huayna Capac), with a magnificent Andean Baroque style. It contains beautiful paintings and sculptures.

La Merced
Calle Mantas (no number), built in the 16th century, next to a beautiful monastery and a wonderful cloister. The tombs of Gonzalo Pizarro and Diego de Almagro are found here. It contains magnificent carvings, oil paintings and a gorgeous monstrance of Gold and precious stones.

Santo Domingo
Av El Sol (n/n). Built in the 17th century on top of the Qoricancha, using its stones. The Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun was the main Inca's religious building, which had its interior walls covered with plates of gold.

Santa Catalina
Church, convent and museum, built in the 17th century on top of the Acllahuasi (House of the Virgins of the Sun). It contains remarkable oil paintings, beautiful precious metals and a very interesting museum.

San Francisco
On Plaza San Francisco, built in the 16th century and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1650 in the shape of a Latin cross. Its choir has a magnificent relief work.

San Pedro
In front of the Santa Ana Market, built in the late seventeen century on top of an older church destroyed in the earthquake of 1650, using stones brought from Inca ruins.
