| Patagonia
This region located at the extreme tip of South America is one of the most unexplored areas of the American continent. An area as beautiful as it is untamable, as pure and imposing as perhaps never imagined. Just the mention of its name awakens a fascination for that which is distant, virgin, and unknown. It is a territory where a great diversity of landscapes can be found, from the Patagonian pampas to the fjords and channels in which the snowcapped peaks of the Andes mountain range are submerged. It is a region where silence touches you and where flora, fauna and geography awaken the senses.
The northern area of Patagonia extends from the city of Puerto Montt to the continental Campos de Hielo (Icefields), mute witnesses of the last glaciations. From the Campos de Hielo the San Rafael Glacier gives way and embraces the ocean, finally, in the San Raphael Lagoon.
The Carretera Austral (Southern Highway) of Chile is an example of one of the greatest efforts of man to tame these latitudes. The road goes through beautiful landscapes dominated by virgin forests.
In the extreme South, the earth is full of beauty and internationally important historical spots, such as Antarctica, the mythical Cape Horn, the Magellan Strait, and the National Park Torres del Paine, declared World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
