Suburbs of Lima

San Isidro
Some of the best hotels, restaurants and residential areas are located in this traditional District of Lima, which still keeps the solemnity of years ago. A huge golf course, a beautiful park full of olive trees, make this district one of the important green areas of the Capital. The ruins of Huallamarca at the intersection of Rosario and Rivera avenues, is a restored adobe pyramid of the Lima culture, dating from about AD-100-500. There is a small site museum on the premises.

Miraflores
It is considered as one of the modern districts of Lima, colorful, with very nice green areas, shopping, entertainment centers, fine restaurants and five star hotels. The beautiful Parque Central or Parque Kennedy of Miraflores is colorful and well kept with a lot of activity and a crafts market in the evenings. Across from the park, the Pizza street, a pedestrian walkway full of outdoor restaurants, bars and discotheques.

Larco Mar in the renovated Parque Salazar, constitutes one of the most modern and impressive Commercial Centers of Lima, with fancy shops, restaurants, movies and entertainment centers and a fantastic view of the Lima Bay. Facing Larco Mar is the recently inaugurated Lima Marriott hotel, a five star hotel with more than 300 rooms facing the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful view of the entire Lima coast line.

Between Borgoņa and Tarapaca districts, near the 45th block of Av. Arequipa, lies Huaca Pucllana, a nice ceremonial complex of the Lima culture with a fine restaurant and site museum on the premises.

Barranco
South of Miraflores is located the District of Barranco, a seaside resort of the 17th century. It is considered a bohemian District, where a number of artists have their workshops. The Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs) has been inspiration material for popular music and poetry, and leads to the Malecon, with an impressive view of the bay. Barranco becomes alive in the evenings, with a lot of activity mainly during the weekends when teenagers flock here looking for the entertainment areas.
