Important information to travel to Lima Peru:

The most important sights in Lima include the Plaza Mayor, plaza where Francisco Pizarro founded the city, the Government Palace, originally built by Francisco Pizarro, and the Cathedral, also located in the Plaza Mayor.

Lima has very impressive Colonial Mansions, like Palacio Torre Tagle, the best preserved colonial home in Lima, Casa de Osambela, Casa de Aliaga, the oldest home on the continent, Casa de Pilatos, with beautiful Renaissance doorways, Casa de Riva Aguero among others.

Some fine examples of Baroque, Rococo and Churrigueresque arquitectures are found in Lima’s colonial churches. The most notorious are, La Merced, Santo Domingo, San Francisco, Las Nazarenas, and San Agustin.

Lima is a city of large and complete museums, including the Gold Museum, a fantastic collection of gold and silver metalwork, National Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the largest collection of ceramics from Pre-hispanic cultures in Peru, Museo de la Nacion, Museo Amano, Museo Poli among others.

The population in Lima Peru is more than 8 million people. Lima has large shopping areas, including fine handicrafts shops. Lima also has very complete accommodation facilities. Hotels in Lima Peru are both international hotel chains and local hotels. Also, there are fantastic restaurants in Lima, offering both Peruvian cuisine and international cuisine.
